Overview

What Are NDIS Group & Centre Activities?

NDIS Group & Centre Activities are funded programs that bring people together in a structured, supportive environment to build social connections, develop real-world skills, and work meaningfully toward their personal NDIS goals.

Funded under Support Category 04 — Core Supports, these programs are structured around participant interests and designed to encourage genuine engagement, confidence, and community belonging. You may also hear them called NDIS group programs, group-based supports, NDIS social group activities, or NDIS day programs.

Every session at Epyllion Services is goal-oriented, with clear links to each participant's individual NDIS plan — ensuring your time and funding deliver real, measurable outcomes.

Funding & Eligibility

How Are Group Activities Funded?

Costs are shared across participants, making your NDIS Core Supports budget go further while you still receive quality, person-centred support.

Category 04

Core Supports Funding

Group & Centre Activities are funded under NDIS Support Category 04 — Core Supports. This is one of the most flexible and accessible funding lines in a participant's plan.

Shared Cost Model

Support costs are shared across participants in the group, reducing the individual hourly rate — meaning your funding stretches further while you benefit from quality, structured programming.

All Management Types Welcome

Whether you are self-managed, plan-managed, or NDIA-managed, you can access our group activities. Speak to your Local Area Coordinator or Support Coordinator to confirm your eligibility and funding.

Session Format

What Happens During a Group Activity Session?

Every session is carefully structured to balance skill development with social enjoyment — creating a routine participants genuinely look forward to.

1

Warm Welcome & Check-In

Facilitators create an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere, introducing the day's agenda and personally checking in with each participant to ensure everyone feels comfortable and ready.

2

Guided Activity Time

Qualified support workers lead structured activities, encouraging participation at each person's own pace — no pressure, no judgement, just genuine progress.

3

Social Connection & Peer Time

Shared breaks, group discussions, and informal interaction time helps participants form genuine friendships and build lasting community connections.

4

Skill-Building Focus

Every session includes purposeful, goal-linked components — from communication and problem-solving to creative expression and daily living skills.

5

Progress Notes & Wrap-Up

Our team documents participation and progress after every session, keeping families, carers, and support coordinators informed and sessions on track.

Life Skills Development

Participate in gentle exercise, mindfulness, yoga, and wellness activities designed to support physical health, mental wellbeing, and healthy lifestyle habits.

Community Outings

Join supported excursions, local events, and community activities that build real-world independence and a genuine sense of belonging in the wider community.

Digital Literacy

Learn to use smartphones, tablets, and online tools safely — helping participants communicate, connect, access services, and navigate the digital world with confidence.

Choosing Your Support

Group Activities vs. Individual Support

Understanding the difference helps you make the most informed choice for your NDIS plan and lifestyle.

Individual 1-on-1 Support

Highly personalised, dedicated assistance

  • Dedicated one-on-one assistance tailored entirely to a single participant's needs
  • Higher hourly rate as the full support cost is borne by one participant alone
  • Best suited for complex, clinical, or highly personalised support needs
  • Less opportunity for peer interaction and social skill development
  • Can be combined with group activities for a comprehensive, blended approach
